Warm transfer rules that keep closers on the phone

A transfer that lands on a busy closer is worse than no transfer. Three rules decide whether your closers spend the shift selling or waiting.

Rule one: transfer to availability, not to a queue

Dumping every qualified caller into one queue is how a good hour turns into four abandoned calls. The bot can check availability before it transfers and hold, retry or book a callback instead.

Rule two: introduce the caller

The bot conferences in and says who is on the line and why, with the answers it collected. Your closer starts the conversation knowing the qualifying answers rather than asking for them again, which is the moment most prospects decide how organized you are.

Rule three: decide what happens when nobody is free

Hold for thirty seconds, retry twice, then book a callback, or whatever your floor prefers. The point is that it is a rule, applied the same way every time, rather than a judgment call made at speed by somebody with four other things on.

About this topic

Yes. Transfers land in whatever queue or extension your ACD already routes to, so your existing routing rules keep working.

Whatever your campaign requires, most floors use a short hold message. The bot stays on the line until the closer picks up.
